  • I had a sick pair of Anons that were brand new last year, until my dog ate the foam off of them towards the end of the season. So I replaced them with the Anon Figment Goggle. I didn't get a chance to field test them until this season, because by the time they were delivered to me in early March, all the snow here had melted and I had exhausted my vacation budget at Mont Tremblant, QC.

  • Bottom line: Super comfortable, easy to strap up or adjust, the Burton Cartel is a great pair of bindings if they fit your riding profile, or if you have more than one board in your quiver and use something else on park days.

If the Skyback II scares you, or if you don't spend as much time carving as I do, go with my second choice, the Burton Triads. They have a lower highback and are a little bit softer in flex.

  • When I went snowboarding at Whistler a few years ago I was in terrible physical shape, on one of the gnarliest mountains in the world. Not a good combination. After that trip, I resolved to stay in better shape and the three holidays I've taken since (to Lake Tahoe, Jackson Hole, and Mont Tremblant) have been much more enjoyable. Hopefully you can learn something from my mistakes!
