  • It is supposed to be in the 70's here later this week. But I just heard that Boyne Mountain and Nubs Nob near Petoskey are still open; Boyne was able to make snow six nights out of seven last week, including a 12-hour marathon on Thursday.  Both resorts intend to stay open until April 11.

  • Adding it all up, I got 23 days on the slopes: 4 in December, 5 in January, 9 or in February and 4 in March.  Pretty good considering how short our winter has been with a late start, and here we are mid-March and the local hills have been closed for two weeks.
