  • If you've been waiting for this like I know some of you have, now's your chance to get some Absinthe blueballs. They released the teaser for 2010's "NOWHERE". Schoolyard rails, parking lot bomb, mind-boggling backcountry hits, crazy pow slashes & some batshit insane descents and did I just see a one-footer over Chad's Gap. Really?

  • Some people think it's a darkslide, but that's a skateboard trick, and as such it can't be done inverted like that. So it's gotta be something else. If there's a real name for it (not some lazy-steal-a-name-from-skateboarding name), I don't know what it is.

What do you call this trick?

  • I'm starting to see the 2011 Never Summer snowboard line appearing in online stores, and now that they're actually available to purchase, they look even sexier than they did in that preview brochure that I snagged a few months ago. This year's Legacy looks pretty cool and it should definitely be more of a playful board than the old 04/05 model that I have, but I really dig the Heritage with that wicked cool carbonium top sheet as a replacement all-mountain deck.

  • Thus always, to tyrants. Although we're not going all John Wilkes Booth on anyone, in order to combat despicable behavior and violently offensive comments from Tyrant Snowboards, a number of snowboard bloggers are using the awesome power of the internet to spread the message: The world would be a better place without Tyrant Snowboards. Do not spend your money with them, do not rep their brand or ride their boards.

  • People who are interested in snowboarding for the first time usually ask, "Do I really need to take a lesson?" They ask this question because they're hoping the answer is, "No, you don't need a lesson. It's super easy!" When you tell them that they do need a lesson, they get defensive and come up with excuses for why they don't really need one.

  • It's Friday. For me that means: time to make fun of skiers. For a lot of people, you're probably getting your paycheck, cashing at the liquor store, spending a good portion of it on malt liquor and cigarettes, maybe a few lottery tickets, and then going to McDonald's for dinner. But I'm making fun of skiers.

  • Since the last update, I made some progress skateboarding, although I haven't learned anything new and my progress has kind of hit a plateau recently; it's been so hot (temps in the mid 90's and humid) that even when I do get out to skate, fatigue sets in quickly no matter how much water I drink.
