What do you get when you take some leftover snow that miraculously survives a heat wave and mix in with some crazy canucks français?
AKAMP that’s what. What’s AKAMP?
It’s a summer shred camp put on by Axis Boutique in it’s fifth year of operating in Quebec. That’s right. Summer snow park on the east coast. And it’s dirt cheap (only $300 CDN).
In a year like this with below average snowfall followed by a super-warm spring & summer where even established camps in the Rockies like Woodward might be forced to cancel sessions and eliminate features (large jumps in particular) it’s awesome to see that Axis and Mont Avila were still able to put this together.
They put out three bang bang edits, one from each day of camp. There’s lots (and I mean lots) of freeskiing and i’ve never seen more kids do more flips off a smaller jump.
Day 1 I think has more boarding than the rest of the vids:
They even busted out an Airbag for Day 3:
Here’s the program flyer, keep your eye out next spring if they announce another session for Summer 2013.
