Build Your Own Backyard Rail for Snowboarding
Posted on November 8, 2010 | 2 CommentsToday I set about to build a practice rail for my backyard. I totally winged it but it turned out to be pretty easy. All you need is a backyard, and a few bucks worth of supplies you can get at any hardware store. Lumber would've added to that total but still would be pretty reasonable to construct your own. -

Posted on September 30, 2010 | 2 CommentsPARTY TIP: you should probably have a spare deck on hand, in case you break your skateboard in half. Last time I went out for a skate I noticed a small spot beginning to delam, the product of repeated fails as the board went wrong-way into the business end of a concrete parking block (does a parking block have another end?). This happened the other night just as I had started out for the evening. I didn't get maybe 10 minutes in and I heard the telltale snap. -
Riding Switch on a Directional Snowboard
Posted on September 22, 2010 | 2 CommentsRiding switch on a directional board is going to feel a little different, but this has less to do with the shape of the board and more to do with the fact that you're probably not very good at riding switch. A twin shaped board is going to help because it's symmetric, but it's not going to do the work for you. You still need to know how to ride switch.
