Peep This Handrail
After a sucky skate session last night I was cruising around looking for a new spot. Didn’t find one, but I did find this epic handrail set at a local high school. I’m adding it to the list of spots to hit when we get our first winter dumps this year. For the time being, I’m keeping this location a secret.
The one on the left in the picture (rider’s right from the approach) is straight for about 25 feet before it curves mildly for the last segment. Beautiful space fora run-up, the light-post is a few feet from the rail but I’d be hesitant to do a BS lipslide anyways. The one on the right is straight all the way and has a decent run-up for a goofy rider, or regular rider hitting it switch.
There is a similarly epic handrail on the north side of Romeo High School, in Romeo Michigan, which we used to hit back when I was a kid doing inline. If memory serves me, it was every bit of 30-40 feet long. From Google Maps you can’t really see it, but it looks like it’s probably still there.
