The details for the Park City trip are coming together.
The airfare is all set through Southwest. There are two stragglers who are on the fence — actually they both insist they are going, but I haven’t gotten a firm commitment (i.e., money) from either of them yet. I’d love for them to go, but I’ve learned that without a deposit, your “reservation” doesn’t mean sh*t.
I took care of the lodging with Vacation Rentals By Owner. We got a nice looking 2BR house that sleeps six, a few blocks from downtown Park City, for six nights, for under $1,200.
Some of us will be staying Monday-Monday which makes it the longest trip we’ve taken in the seven years we’ve been doing this. It also gives us six possible days (actually six-and-a-half, if you count Monday twilight at PCMR) to shred the best snow on earth.
Brad G and I did four days (the first of which came on zero hours’ sleep after a 12-hour overnight haul from Sterling Heights, MI to Mont Tremblant) back to back to back to back, last year. Maybe a repeat performance is in the works, but I’d be surprised if any of us make more than 4 days on the slopes.
Now, I need a bead on discount lift tickets to PCMR or The Canyons. I know they exist, but I’m hoping I can pick some up online since we probably won’t have a car.
