Le P’tit Caribou – Mont Tremblant Nightlife (Part 1)

At snowboardingforum.com there was a discussion about nightlife & hot spots. Someone mentioned Mont Tremblant and a few of the bars there, specifically Le P’tit Caribou and Café d’Epoque. Having visited Mont Tremblant last February, here’s my review of Caribou.

I’ll post reviews of Epoque and La Diable micro-brewery later this week.

Le P’tit Caribou

We went to Caribou only on the first night we were there. I think they had buy-one-get-one-free bottled beers, so that was a decent deal. Unfortunately it was “80′s Night” which meant that all of the all the lifties and cafeteria girls were there in thrift store Dayglo and cheap costume moustaches and fake ray bans. That was bad enough. Also, they weren’t playing any 80′s music wtf?

The only thing that made that night tolerable was watching one of my friends try to hook up with two not-very-attractive Welsh girls (pictured at right). At one point he was sandwiched between both of them & dancing on the stage like it was freshman year all over again. Then they were gone.

The crowd at Caribou was stupid young. And I mean jailbait 15-will-get-you-twenty young. Look, I know I’m not as young as I used to be, and I know the drinking age in Canada is 19 and we were there during winter holiday, but I would bet my life there were 15 & 16 year olds in both those bars. And not just one or two. Lots.

This bar is for you, if you’re 19 years old and like loud obnoxious teenagers.
