True to form, didn’t finish packing until around 11pm on Sunday… Made a last-minute trip to Meijer to look for some things which I didn’t end up buying. Home around midnight, check the e-mails, twitter, FB, etc. and bed around 1am. Couldn’t sleep. Alarm goes off at quarter after 4. Awake, but tired. Load the bags in the car and head to Brad’s, where his mother has generously offered to meet us at 5am and drive us to the airport. She is a saint.
Load up the truck and at the airport by 6. Security that early on a holiday Monday was a breeze, fewer business travelers than normal, and since nobody visits Detroit on holiday, there wasn’t a glut of people flying oubtound. Forty minute flight to Chicago Midway on Southwest Airlines. Short layover, enough time to power down the second cup of coffee of the day. Watched Burton’s “B-Movie” en route to SLC. Bored. Dude sitting in front of Chris kept farting on the plane. Not cool.
Ended up at PCMR for twilight. The first-timer on our trip actually did really good and is picking up snowboarding pretty quickly.
Got a few pictures, picked up my new vidcam at BestBuy, and hit a few bars. Came home and cooked 3 pounds of bacon to get ready for today, and made grilled cheese sammies for everyone.
Only two of us have really committed to trying to ride every day of the trip. Even after raging out last night, the body feels pretty good.
Up at 8am today, geting some breakfast on and heading out to PCMR this morning. Looks like it’s shaping up to be bluebird.
