Schuss Mountain/Shanty Creek – 03/02/2012
Posted on March 7, 2012 | No CommentsThe weather as expected was less than desireable: heavy rain soaked slush snow, mashed potatoes, but fortunately being a weekday, the slopes were empty. We ripped a few groomers, got stuck in the sticky snow in the glades; I would've liked better conditions to talk about the mountain as a whole, but as it was, the snow was just fine for riding park and so that's where we spent most of our time. -

So we here in Michigan can't compete with the new Gondola or the Stash Terrain Park at Jackson Hole, I get that but there's plenty of Michigan ski resorts that are investing in making better experiences for their customers. -

Posted on August 22, 2010 | No CommentsEarlier this week I took a look at season pass offerings in Michigan for Metro-Detroit area ski resorts and also some of the smaller resorts on the state's west side . There are many ski areas and full-service resorts a few hours to the north, within 4 hours from Detroit, 5 from Toledo, Indianapolis and Chicago.
