The Impossible Rail and Other Local Spots

Saturday might be a backyard rail session with Jon T. But that makes me think about where to go next? He has already ridden at the legendary Pontiac Central High School.  Along the way we’ve both been scoping spots and keeping a log (mental or otherwise) of where there might be urban features worth hitting.  And from the depths of this hit-list I bring you THE IMPOSSIBLE RAIL:

This one has G-N-A-R-L-Y written all over it. Pretty sure it is like 15-kinked. It is magazine cover shot worthy if you have the skills to slay it.  I don’t. But there are a few more out there like this one which is more like Fisher Price My-First-Handrail.  It is low, the rail itself is relatively wide (4-6″ maybe) and the steps are wood instead of concrete.  The “video surveillance” sign skeers me, however, it says no rollerblading, bicycling, skateboarding or scooter riding. Doesn’t say anything about snowboarding.

Moving up from there is this set great looking rail it is 14 or maybe 15 stairs (hard to count in the photo).  There is decent room for a bungee approach and the rail itself isn’t super-steep.
