Heading up north tonight to pick up the nephew, tomorrow morning we’ll be making the trek up to Crystal Mountain. Got him a spot in a 2hr kids’ lesson starting at 1130am. We took him out for his first time snowboarding last month, and he liked it enough to forgo a Valentine’s day present from his parents so that he could get the money and use it to go snowboarding again. Sweet.
He should do good to get that lesson since he doesn’t know how to stop and/or turn, hopefully they can teach him. Crystal Mountain has a very good childrens’ program.
I’m expecting “late spring” conditions tomorrow. Should be near 40 degrees tomorrow, so it’s going to be slushy, probably slow. There is a spot at Crystal where I usually expect a large puddle to form as the snow melts over the course of a day. They are having a slopestyle and halfpipe competition tomorrow, which might be fun to watch but I hope it’s not too crowded.
In other news, the forecast down here has improved slightly. Still going to be ungodly warm, but no rain, which means our local garbage dumps ski areas can hopefully stay open a little longer, and we can get some more shred on next week.
